Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
