The relatives of young people missing after a deadly fire at a venue in a Swiss winter destination are facing an painful period of uncertainty for answers and pleading for any details about their family members publicly.

The fire ripped through the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Verified images reveal the ceiling being engulfed in flames as beverages with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have stated that it could take an extended period to formally name the fatalities of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and hurt another 119. Officials said on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work continuing to name the remaining few.

In the meantime, relatives have been taking to the internet to appeal for any news about their loved ones who were in attendance that night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his mother.

The national sporting body has said that he is deceased, without directly referencing the fire, paying tribute to a "talented young man who represented dedication and true sportsmanship."

His father, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An representative has stated that a official announcement of his death is still pending.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is likewise unaccounted for. His parent told reporters that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with friends and ended up at the bar.

"A companion informed me they escaped after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he couldn't see him anymore," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

Her sibling has shared an appeal online, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the teenager or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Consular authorities from her country of origin say they are closely watching the situation.
